ABOUT'MISS SOPHIE'S DANCE ACADEMY'
After teaching for over 10 years for several Dance Schools, Theatre Schools, Colleges and Companies and following the arrival of my second child, I finally decided to set up my own business. With experience teaching 3 year olds to adults in a mixture of genres, from Pre-School Ballet to BTEC Students to Hen Parties and Wedding Couples, this was an exciting prospect.
Due to being around a lot of pre-schoolers with my daughter and friends, and loving watching them grow and develop, I started classes in September 2011 under the name of Tippy Toes, focussing on pre-school Ballet classes. These Tippy Toes classes soon grew covering Ashford, Canterbury, Faversham, Herne Bay and Whitstable. Due to the fact they were all pre-school classes, as the children grew and went to school we soon had a natural demand for older classes after school and on Saturday mornings. This is where Reactive Dance started in January 2012, soon becoming Miss Sophie's Dance Academy, with all after-school and weekend classes based at the newly opened West Faversham Community Centre. Classes started off in Ballet and Tap with Street following quickly after, and now growing with Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. We soon started to offer a more upbeat class for pre-schoolers too with Mini Groovers and Mini Tappers.
We have now grown from just myself to five other experienced teachers .
We also currently visit Dee Dee's Day Nursery in Boughton weekly, offering the children extra activities outside of their daily routine.
We now have a pupil list of over 300 students with new classes starting frequently, with
Tipp-Toes popping up in new locations and the Faversham classes introducing Teen and Adult Classes.
We are always on the look out for experienced Teachers to bring something fresh to
Miss Sophie’s Dance Academy.
